AstroLock is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle your data when you use our astronomical assistance and telemetry application. We believe in transparency and want you to understand exactly what information we access and why.

1. Use of Sensors and Location

AstroLock requires access to motion (Gyroscope, Accelerometer), environmental (Barometer, Magnetometer), and Location (GPS – Fine and Approximate) sensors to function properly.

Why do we need your location?

Location is strictly used to:

  • Calculate local magnetic declination for the True North Compass
  • Track visible GNSS satellites in your region’s sky
  • Assist in latitude calculation for the telescope’s Polar Alignment
✓ Important: No location or sensor data is stored on our servers. All processing occurs locally on your device.

2. Third-Party Services and Analytics

To improve stability, send notifications, and keep the app free, we use third-party services that may collect anonymous data (such as app crashes and advertising identifiers).

3. Data Sharing

All astronomical calculations, sensor readings, and location data are processed locally on your device. We never transmit your precise location or observation data to our servers.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

AstroLock does not require account creation and does not store personal data on external servers. All sensor and location data is processed locally on your smartphone.

By uninstalling the application, all local data and granted permissions are irrevocably removed from your device.
